Can we end ignorance in our time?

Yeah....I didn't think so either.

  1. Don't we already have background checks on every gun transaction from a licensed dealer, even if that transaction take place at a gun show, and what they're really looking to do here is make me do a background check on my cousin or best friend if I end up selling THEM a gun?

  2. Not only do we need background checks, we need a record of every sale, every transfer, every theft, and every other movement of all firearms.

What we have in this country now is sick and ridiculous. It's time to ignore the gun manufacturers and their cronies at the NRA, and get sensible national regulation of the militia.

  3. What we actually have is a strong inverse correlation between right to carry laws and the murder rate. Yes, guns can do some gruesome things but they can also protect us

  4. You don't know what you're talking about. The whole gun nut position is a pile of crap. Lies. Bullshit.

  5. Wow.....what a well thought out rebuttal Jersey. I could have said the same of the gun control nut position, if it wasn't so easy to rebut the propaganda with facts and reason.

Even the conservative number of instances of defensive gun use, backs up Will. Don't like the 2nd Amendment? Repeal it.

  6. You don't have to repeal the 2nd Amendment. It allows the federal government and the states to regulate the militia, as they did through most of our history.

As for your complete utter bullshit "facts and reason," this thoroughly researched little ditty from Mother Jones from last year pretty much destroys every lie propagated by the Gun Pushers: (here are the parts relevant to the lie your pushing)

"For every time a gun is used in self-defense in the home, there are 7 assaults or murders, 11 suicide attempts, and 4 accidents involving guns in or around a home."

"In 2011, nearly 10 times more people were shot and killed in arguments than by civilians trying to stop a crime. In one survey, nearly 1% of Americans reported using guns to defend themselves or their property. However, a closer look at their claims found that more than 50% involved using guns in an aggressive manner, such as escalating an argument."

I look at it this way - the kinds of people who are say they should be armed to protect themselves or anyone else are the LAST people you'd want doing it, because they're obviously too stupid to know what they're doing.

  7. Well as predicted, there's clearly no rational discussion to be had with the members of the gun control cabal. Best of luck with your cause!

  8. You are deluded. You just keep believing what you want to believe and ignore the truth, all for the childish fantasy cult of the gun. It's just sad to see otherwise good people lie and lie and lie and lie like there's no tomorrow, just for their pathetic childish fantasy cult of the gun. What a terribly spoiled, silly, demanding, uneducated and uncivilized people we have become. Just like children. That's what you gun nuts act like - rotten dumb spoiled children.

  9. Jersey: There is a cult on the other side obsessed with stealing other people's guns and controlling their lives.

Don't like guns? Don't buy one, Jersey. Problem solved. I would also venture to say that the "rotten dumb spoiled children" description belongs far more to the anti-gun nuts, who want to take away a basic human right enshrined in the Constitution.

Fair assessment. That side is based on a fascistic megalomania (desire for "control") and a sort of destructive busy-body-ness.

No way. This information, if ever collected, needs to be destroyed after any background check. This is because of the dangerous and explicit threats by top politicians such as Andrew Cuomo, who said that ordering the government to steal people's guns was "on the table".

A lot easier to steal guns if you know where they all are.

Well said, and something we've witnessed in other western nations as well. The gun control cabal's position rests on appeals to emotion....and quite frankly, appeals to ignorance. They even admit this, if you know where to look.

  10. Thank you. The threat of confiscation has been made too many times by top leaders/leftist politicians to ignore. From Cuomo to the New Jersey senate stating their ill intent speaking like movie supervillains... to the Missouri Democrat party's efforts.. to others.

The message sent by these threats to steal is to buy your guns now, preferably some way they won't be documented, in order to avoid both theft by jackbooted thugs, or any Congressional efforts to stamp on our rights and ban guns sales.

  11. Ah, the ol' paranoid gun nut argument. I'm tired of this sleazy anti-government argument you guys slovenly throw around while pretending to be defenders of the same Constitution that is manifested in our government.

We need to know who has guns. We, as a society, need to know that. You guys are de facto not responsible enough to trust that you will not give your guns to criminals and lunatics. I'm sorry, children, but that's the way it is. And the worse you all behave, and the sleazier the arguments for your cause, the sooner the day will come that the public says "Enough!" and we finally get First World civilized gun regulation in this country.

  12. "You guys are de facto not responsible enough to trust that you will not give your guns to criminals and lunatics."

The sheer number of lawful gun owners versus the pitiful few who use them in spree or criminal shootings, utterly debunks you assertion. nice try though.

    1. Well said. Facts trump the "Eww Guns... icky!" side every time. You know, those folks who clammor about banning "assault weapons" but few can even define what one is.

    2. That's exactly it...they know the fallacy of the "assault weapon" meme...because they invented it.

"Assault weapons... are a new topic. The weapons' menacing looks, coupled with the public's confusion over fully-automatic machine guns versus semi-automatic assault weapons — anything that looks like a machine gun is assumed to be a machine gun — can only increase the chance of public support for restrictions on these weapons."

    3. A telling quote from the way back machine that shows the gun control cabal's charade isn't a recent phenomena, from Stockton Mayor Barbara Fass in 1991:

"I think you have to do it a step at a time and I think that is what the NRA is most concerned about, is that it will happen one very small step at a time, so that by the time people have “woken up”—quote—to what’s happened, it’s gone farther than what they feel the consensus of American citizens would be. But it does have to go one step at a time and the beginning of the banning of semi-assault military weapons, that are military weapons, not “household” weapons, is the first step."

    4. very interesting. yes registration wouldn't be so bad without this very real threat of government theft of firearms. Unfortunately the two go hand in hand. They travel together
