Dedicated in 2010 to the fallen of OIF.

  1. Was in Kirkuk from 2007 to late 2010. Was there when they started setting the a-walls for this memorial. Later I was able to come back and see the finished mural around that hanger and the memorial wall. Know the man who was responsible for its creation, George Carson, and it is dedicated to the memory of his son. Understand they moved the wall a little over a year later from the dark side to a place near gate 3 or 5. The wall has a special meaning for me for there are over 12 names of men and 1 woman whom I met over there and came to know on one level or another. Another personal reminder for me that freedom is not free. Will have to go back and look at the pictures of this wall I have and the murals that are were around the hanger at that time. Thanks again for your tribute.

  2. Thank you for sharing this brother.....

I know that there was a petition drive to try and bring that wall back to the states. I can't seem to find out if they were successful, but it's a travesty if they weren't.
