But I'm sort of a fan of Social Darwinism....

"Disguised as [a] deficit reduction plan, it's really an attempt to impose a radical vision on our country. It's nothing but thinly-veiled Social Darwinism. It's antithetical to our entire history as a land of opportunity and upward mobility for everyone who's willing to work for it -- a place where prosperity doesn't trickle down from the top, but grows outward from the heart of the middle class. And by gutting the very things we need to grow an economy that's built to last -- education and training; research and development -- it's a prescription for decline." - Pres. Obama on the Ryan budget plan
No Mr President, the massive scale of entitlements is antithetical to both our history and our national ideals. Take some solace though....the Ryan plan doesn't go far enough.

Progressives are reduced to bald-faces lies.

You're right that the Ryan plan doesn't go far enough, but I think it is as far as it can go right now and still be politically viable.

One thing we need to learn from progressives is to take the opportunity when it presents itself, even if it is just a quarter of a loaf, and come back later to keep taking more bites.

We want everything in one bite, progressives have learned to get what they want with a thousand snarks, bites and nibbles over decades. Granted, we don't have decades, but this is a start.

It's infuriating that there isn't a single Republican in office who has the reflex and ability to deliver a swift, public rebuke of these constant noxious emanations from Obama.

How hard is it to return fire?

Want to know what real Social Darwinism is like? Just look at the violent, welfare-dependent Ward 8 neighborhoods of Chicago's South Side where Obama was 'community organizer'. Heck, just look at all the urban neighborhoods where Democrats are the one party rule.

There is no more shining example of Obama's 'prescription of decline' than the left's entitlement policies that has created these apocalyptic neighborhoods where your child won't live to 18 unless he joins a gang or start one.

Who's the real Social Darwinian now?
