Another Door closes....

Ray Manzarek, most known as a founding member of the '60s rock band The Doors, is dead. According to a message posted on the band's Facebook page, Manzarek died of bile duct cancer while in Rosenheim, Germany, on Monday, May 20. He was 74. Wife Dorothy Manzarek and brothers Rick and James were by his side.

R.I.P. Ray...tell Jim that we still miss him.

  1. Back in the day, I loved the Doors’ music. What so attracted me to their music was the keyboard virtuosity because I am a pianist.

I really missed The Doors when the band dissolved. Nobody else even comes close to duplicating the unique sound and style of The Doors.

  2. Like Jim said, none of us gets out of here alive.

  3. An iconic band...no doubt. I haven't found much to their equal in today's music. I'm a little sad that I'm late to the party, due to my age. Growing up with The Doors as background music must have been surreal.
